All our work is aimed at reaching out to children and young people. We do this through work in schools, churches, clubs, and many other events and activites.

Here is just a taster of some of the things we get up to:

Pulsar Clubs

The Pulsar Clubs are for children between the ages of 7 & 11 (School Years 3 – 6) and they usually form the beginning of a journey with PSALMS. The aim with our Pulsar Clubs is to build relationships with the children through a wide variety of fantastic clubs. Our hope is that we will journey with these children as they move onto our Pulse Youth Clubs.

The Pulse Youth Clubs

One of the main ways we build long term relationships with children and young people, is to get them along to our of our fantastic high-energy high-quality youth clubs, running in schools and independent venues around the area.

Community events:

Follow the shouts of excitement at many of the community events, fairs and fun days in the area and you will often find one of our youth ministers there co-ordinating the fun filled chaos. We have been involved in Family Fun Days, Goodwill evenings, Light Parties, and Harvest Festivals.  We are happy to work alongside other community initiatives and associations.

Sports and Arts workshops, training and events:

From a Sports Coaching Academy and Christians In Sport Night of Champions, to Open Mic Nights and Singing Workshops, we run many sports and arts events around the area. In addition to this, we also run basketball coaching as well as a host of other sports clubs, various performance based clubs and the Pulse Leadership Academy.

“Drop In” centres:

As well as our regular Pulse Clubs we run a number of more informal “drop in” youth centres where we can begin to get to know local young people simply by giving them time and space to chat and “chill”.

Discipleship Groups:

At the other end of the spectrum, some of our young people who have begun a journey of faith want more indepth dicipleship and bible study.  We try to facilitate young Christians to meet up, pray with and encourage each other through various groups and activities.

Social Action:

Young people love the opportunity to make a difference and so we love showing them what it means to put faith into action.

Strategic Work:

As well as our “frontline” work, PSALMS also undertakes strategic work to understand how we and the churches of this area might better serve and reach these young people. We have recently undertaken a strategic review of all children’s work going on in the area.
