For 2019/2020 we have employed Ben White as an intern. If you are interested in an internship with PSALMS for 2020/21, please have a look at the information below:
What does an Internship with PSALMS look like?
This exciting opportunity gives successful applicants the chance to develop their skills in children’s and youth work whilst increasing their theological knowledge through the New Wine Discipleship year.
PSALMS will cover the cost of the New Wine Discipleship year programme, provide accommodation and also pay expenses of £2,000 p.a. to allow for some pocket money and travel costs. In addition, PSALMS also cover the cost of any PSALMS residentials or camps that the intern is expected to attend as part of their placement (such as Limitless or our own TRAC camp)
PSALMS offers two individual internship streams to choose from:
- 1) Sports Specialism: This stream is ideal for those who are interested in developing in youth work but also have a passion for sports and sports ministry. More conventional youth work practice will be combined with sports activities in a variety of ways.
- 2) Youth Ministry: PSALMS youth ministry stream aims to develop core youth work and ministry skills through community, schools and church work.
In each of these streams, successful applicants will work, over the placement, to develop and deliver a project that fits into their core specialism areas. They will also have the opportunity to develop their media skills; including PSALMS website, Instagram and YouTube.
PSALMS partners with New Wine Discipleship year and successful applicants will spend 8 hours a week at New Wine Cheltenham as part of their placement. The internships also include a number of retreats and some camps such as Limitless.
