Coronavirus Update – unfortunately due to the current situation, PSALMS has made the difficult decision to furlough some of their staff. However, a reduced staff team will remain in position and activities for our community will be posted regularly on social media, see details below. We hope to see you all again soon.
Firstly, just to say a massive thank you to you all for your support through prayer, volunteering and financial giving during this time. These things go together with a complete reliance upon God to underpin all the encouraging stories that come out of the work that God allows us to do amongst families and young people in our local areas.
The PSALMS board have been continually praying and seeking Gods guidance during the last few weeks. For various reasons the decision has been taken in consultation with staff to furlough some of the team until the end of May. This decision wasn’t taken lightly, but we felt it was important as we re-evaluated the current workload in this time and considered how we may best steward the resources we have.
PSALMS will continue to operate, but with a reduced staff team during this period. There was a strong desire and sense that we should not pause things entirely but seek to continue some level of ministry. Emily Twigg, Ben White and Sue Shaw will carry on connecting with and serving local children, young people and their families during this time.
Please see our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/psalmsuk/ or website https://psalms.uk.net/ for more details about what we are doing and how you can join in! We remain absolutely committed to reaching out to the families and young people in our areas and will use this time to sharpen our current communications and develop new ways of connecting. We are excited as a team about the opportunities this difficult time may provide.
Localised work will be continuing in the Beacon and Stonehouse areas with opportunities for other areas to connect into these regular online gatherings. Additionally, there will be some specific areawide events happening online that allow everyone to get involved. The Daily Challenges will continue and mentoring where appropriate will carry on.
It is important to reiterate that we have come to this decision prayerfully as a whole team to ensure everyone is satisfied with where we are heading going forwards. We trust that “he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world”.
